Constantine
Great civilisations of Algeria: from Tipaza to Ghardaïa
Thirteen days across 2,000 years of history: Oran, Roman Tipaza and Cherchell, Algiers, Djemila, Constantine, Timgad, the Aurès, the oasis of Biskra and the M'zab valley.
The city of bridges and two of the best-preserved Roman towns in the world, in Algeria's green and mountainous east.
In Algeria's green and mountainous east, this circuit combines Constantine, the city of bridges perched above the Rhumel gorge, with two of the best-preserved Roman towns in the world, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Djémila on its mountain ridge and Timgad with its perfect grid plan.
You cross the Sidi M'Cid bridge, visit the Ahmed Bey Palace and the old medina, then spend a full day at each Roman site with a guide who brings their forums, temples, baths and arches to life. The circuit continues to the balconies of the Ghoufi canyon in the Aurès mountains and the red Roman town of Tiddis.
Our team organises transfers, guides and hotels from start to finish. Every departure can be adapted: travelling as a family, with friends or wanting more time at one site? Ask for a tailor-made version.
