Algiers
Algiers, Tipaza & the Casbah
Four days in the white city: the Casbah's palaces, the bay from Notre-Dame d'Afrique and the Roman ruins of Tipaza by the sea.
Eight unhurried days based in Algiers: the Casbah and its palaces, the great museums, the Grand Mosque, the Jardin d'Essai, a day at Roman Tipaza and an evening of chaâbi music.
Algiers deserves more than a day. This stay is based in a guesthouse in the centre and lets you explore the capital at your own pace: the Casbah and the Palais des Raïs, the Bardo and Fine Arts museums, the Hamma botanical garden, the Grand Mosque and the city's Christian heritage, from Notre-Dame d'Afrique to the diocese.
One day takes you west to Tipaza and the Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania. The trip ends with an evening of chaâbi, the music of Algiers. Ideal for a first visit or for travellers who prefer to settle in one place.
